Terms of Service

1. The service

Smart Iceland provides self-guided travel guides for destinations in Iceland, delivered as web apps that run in your browser at app.smarticeland.is. Each guide contains text, photography, audio narration and maps. A limited free preview is available for every destination; full access is sold as a digital pass.

2. Purchases and delivery

Passes are sold per destination or as a bundle covering all destinations. Payment is processed by our merchant of record, Paddle, which handles payment, receipts and applicable VAT/sales tax. Access is delivered immediately after payment: the app unlocks automatically on your device, and an access code is also sent to your email address as a backup.

3. Validity and devices

A purchased pass is valid for 30 days from first use — not from the date of purchase. A pass is bound to the single device on which it is first activated and cannot be shared between devices or people. If you lose access to your device, contact us and we will transfer your pass.

4. Refunds

As the pass is digital content delivered immediately, you agree that the statutory right of withdrawal lapses once the pass is activated. If you have not activated your pass, or if something isn't working as it should, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will make it right — including a refund where appropriate.

5. Use of content

All content in the guides — text, audio and photography — is the property of Smart Iceland. You may download our photographs for personal use. Commercial use, redistribution or resale of any content is not permitted.

6. Disclaimer

The guides contain practical information (opening hours, fees, facilities) that may change without notice. Always follow local signage and safety instructions at the destinations themselves. Smart Iceland is not liable for damages arising from travel decisions based on the guides.

1. Þjónustan

Smart Iceland býður sjálfsleiðsagnir um áfangastaði á Íslandi sem veföpp er keyra í vafra á app.smarticeland.is. Hver leiðsögn inniheldur texta, ljósmyndir, hljóðleiðsögn og kort. Ókeypis sýnishorn er í boði fyrir hvern áfangastað; fullur aðgangur er seldur sem stafrænn passi.

2. Kaup og afhending

Passar eru seldir á hvern áfangastað eða sem búnt með öllum áfangastöðum. Greiðslur fara í gegnum söluumboðsaðila okkar, Paddle, sem sér um greiðsluvinnslu, kvittanir og skil á virðisaukaskatti. Aðgangur afhendist strax eftir greiðslu: appið opnast sjálfkrafa á tækinu þínu og aðgangskóði er einnig sendur á netfangið þitt til vara.

3. Gildistími og tæki

Keyptur passi gildir í 30 daga frá fyrstu notkun — ekki frá kaupdegi. Passi er bundinn við eitt tæki, það sem hann er fyrst virkjaður á, og ekki er hægt að deila honum milli tækja eða fólks. Ef þú missir aðgang að tækinu þínu skaltu hafa samband og við færum passann yfir.

4. Endurgreiðslur

Þar sem passinn er stafrænt efni sem afhendist strax samþykkir þú að réttur til að falla frá kaupum fellur niður við virkjun passans. Ef þú hefur ekki virkjað passann, eða ef eitthvað virkar ekki sem skyldi, hafðu samband innan 14 daga frá kaupum og við leysum málið — með endurgreiðslu þar sem það á við.

5. Notkun efnis

Allt efni leiðsagnanna — texti, hljóð og ljósmyndir — er eign Smart Iceland. Þér er heimilt að sækja ljósmyndir okkar til einkanota. Notkun í atvinnuskyni, dreifing eða endursala efnis er óheimil.

6. Fyrirvari

Leiðsagnirnar innihalda hagnýtar upplýsingar (opnunartíma, gjöld, aðstöðu) sem geta breyst án fyrirvara. Fylgdu ávallt merkingum og öryggisleiðbeiningum á staðnum. Smart Iceland ber ekki ábyrgð á tjóni sem hlýst af ferðaákvörðunum byggðum á leiðsögnunum.
